I've been to many a diner in my time, this one is the best.
When I'm home from school I come here on an an almost nightly basis and the menu is large enough that I'm never at a loss for what to order.
I personally reccomend the Romanian Steak or bowl of french onion soup. But feel free to be adventurous.

We've tried most of the diners in the area and this is our hands down favorite. Everything, from breakfast pancakes and omelettes, the excellent quality (read fresh not frozen) burgers to homemade soups (matza ball and Manhattan clam are current faves)

At the end of the day, it is a diner, so there aren't any surprises. But then again you don't want surprises when you go to the diner. You want a wide variety of fresh, well-prepared food, quick, friendly service, and reasonable prices. The Croton Colonial has all of that in spades and the owners and wait staff have been there for a long time and know their patrons well. Oh, try the greek lemon soup!

There are lots of diners around, but Croton Colonial stands out for the quality and value of their food. they have a huge list of specials - greek, Italian, good old American pot roast for instance - that come with fresh vegetables as sides. All has lots of flavor. Service is fast and friendly
